Flat Ribbon Cable (FRC) is a flat, rectangular cable made of multiple wires running parallel to each other. The red marker on the edge is indicating the first conductor. This cable is suitable for IDC (Insulation-displacement contact) connectors. This connector is having sharpened blade inside, so while we connect it to the FRC cable with little bit of force, it strip the insulation of FRC cable and connect to it, which despise the need of striping.
